1964 Pontiac Grand Prix, with a 6.4L V8 389 Tri Power Engine. Rebuilt Carbs, New Fuel Tank, Sending Unit cleaned and restored, Fuel Line cleaned out, New Fuel Filter, New Plugs and wires, timing and idle set. Runs and drives great, no rust! Kelsey Hayes factory 8 lug wheels. Low mileage, unrestored survivor with one repaint in amazing original condition. Odometer showing just over 35 thousand original miles and believed to be correct original mileage.
Car was imported into Canada from San Diego California in 1992 at 34k miles and with the same owner since that time. One repaint in the original Nocturne blue done in the 80's. This car is virtually rust free and shows no evidence of previous rust repair. All panels align nicely, doors close with a click. Power windows work quickly with no issues, power antenna works, AM radio works with front and rear speaker. Original interior is in amazing condition for its age and shows very well. Very minor cracking in steering wheel, some staining, split seams and small rips in the headliner. Dash is beautiful, Vacuum gauge works. The car has power steering, power brakes, heavy duty cooling and air conditioning.
Runs very well and drives down the road perfectly. The roto hydramatic transmission runs perfectly and shifts as it should. Brakes pull to the left upon application and potentially, the right front wheel cylinder may be seized, but the car rolls freely and stops safely. The air conditioning is not working. The system appears to be intact and complete. The car has Coker reproduction whitewall bias ply tires in the correct 8.50 - 14 size and appear to be in as new condition with very few miles. This Grand Prix has been driven less than 500 miles since 2009 and has always been stored indoors. Recent oil change, replaced the points, checked all spark plugs and had the car running for several hours with no leaks, no issues or overheating and have driven a few miles to confirm transmission and rear end are in good working order.
Overall the car shows very well and is absolutely stunning in person, but not without flaws. There are some small blemishes in the paint on the hood, roof and deck lid. Not visible from a few feet away but noticeable up close if you are really looking. These cars are nearly impossible to find in this original condition, and with restoration costs being what they are today, this Pontiac Grand Prix represents a bargain that can be enjoyed as is for years to come!
